Available BMS Systems:
Metric Mind BMS
http://www.metricmind.com/bms.htm
Hardware done, software not finished
Reap Systems
Based in the UK
Each board monitors, manages and equalizes up to 14 cells (14 voltages and 7 temperatures)
Multiple boards connected via CAN bus - tested for up to 12 boards per system (168 cells)
One system can measure up to 2 currents (Hall effect and/or shunt resistor)
Fully independent hardware protection layer (redundant cell protection mechanism)
Parameterizable for different cell types and applications
SOC, SOH information
Fast closed loop controls available for controlling chargers and inverters through CAN bus or PWM
CAN bootloader for firmware updates without having to access the electronic modules
Supports data logging with PC. Compatible with RS232 or USB, ethernet, bluetooth or wifi via CAN bus converter
PC software 'PCTool' available free of charge (specific CAN to USB converter required)
RS485 available on hardware (custom firmware only)
Can be powered from cells or externally
Power down + wake-up function
454.00 GBP per board for orders up to 10 boards (17.07.2009). Volume discounts available.
Customizations or custom solutions on offer.

BMS
One board per cell
ATTiny13V microprocessor controlled
Processor powered by the cell, good down to 1.8v
No external reset circuit
No fuse
Doesn't appear to have temperature or bypass current sensors
In the future will provide some form of improved communications between cells
