This disk drive holds a whopping 70MB and takes up the space of two CDROM drives stacked on top of each other.

Due to the somewhat strange nature of the disk controller, the drive must be specially formatted. I understand this is because the controller does the bad blocking. Regardless of exactly why, it needs a special utility to format the disk, which I don't have. I believe a Vaxstation 2000 contains the required utility in it's onboard ROM, but my machine needs to load a formatter from a utility tape.
Since I can't low level format the disk, I can't use it. Normal high level formatting works, but results in lost data and filesystem errors.
